Sportsbook review

Tidewater Sportsbook review

A tightly priced, well-regulated sportsbook with strong protection tools, though successful accounts report stake restrictions and niche sports are thinly covered.

4.4/ 5Tested

What we liked

  • Average margin of 4.1 percent on our basket of main football markets
  • Clear cash-out pricing with partial cash-out available
  • Deposit limit prompted at registration, with loss limits and reality checks
  • Licensed by national regulators in each market it serves

What we did not

  • Reports of stake limits applied to consistently winning accounts
  • Limited depth on niche sports and lower leagues

Overview

Tidewater Sportsbook operates under national licences in several European markets, each of which we confirmed on the relevant regulator's register. It focuses on football, tennis and basketball, with a competent in-play product. This review is for adults only and is not an encouragement to bet.

Pricing

We measure margin on a fixed basket of markets over four weekends. Tidewater averaged 4.1 percent on main football match markets in top European leagues, which is among the lowest we have recorded for a mainstream book. Tennis match odds averaged 5.3 percent. As everywhere, margins were much higher on player propositions and same-game parlays, which we measured at between 12 and 25 percent depending on the number of legs.

In-play and cash out

Bet acceptance delays in play averaged around three seconds in our tests, and suspensions were short. Cash-out values are displayed continuously, and partial cash out is supported. Cash-out prices include an additional margin, as they do at every operator, and Tidewater's help pages say so plainly.

Payments

Card and bank transfer deposits were instant. Three withdrawals to a bank account arrived within one working day. Verification was completed electronically at registration without document uploads.

Account restrictions

Customer forums carry a steady stream of reports that accounts with a record of beating the closing price have had maximum stakes reduced. The terms permit this, and it is common practice across the industry, but it is worth knowing.

Safer gambling

This is a strength. A deposit limit is requested during registration, and loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion are one tap from the account menu. The operator participates in the national self-exclusion schemes in its markets.

Verdict

Low margins on main markets, reliable payments and well-implemented protection tools. Coverage beyond the major sports is limited, and high-margin parlay products are promoted heavily within the app.

18+ only. Gambling can be addictive; set limits before you play. Where to get help.
